UFV’s newest Advancement Officer

Introducing Deanna McIntyre

  • January 24, 2017

Promoted from her previous position as Advancement Services Assistant, Deanna has been a valuable member of our team for the past year. Deanna’s focus will be on annual giving to support student scholarships and awards—implementing programs to help more friends and supporters impact students’ lives through UFV.

In concert with Sherri Magson, Advancement Manager, Deanna will work closely with the Alumni Association to create more opportunities for alumni to support UFV’s students, not only through donations, but also with their time and talent.

In addition to Deanna’s recent experience at UFV, she has a strong background in community fundraising. She was the Development Coordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Fraser Valley Chapter for six years. Since 2010, she has served on the Board of Directors of the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association, currently as Past-President and Chair of their Governance committee. Deanna has also done contract work in recent years with the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation, Rare Affairs Meeting & Event Planning Services, The Great Climate Race, and the Vancouver International Marathon Society.

Outside of the office, Deanna enjoys running and taking part in a variety of races each year. She can often be found with multiple books on the go and is in her happy place when her fingers are deep in the soil of her flower garden.
