Heavy Mechanical Students benefit from Wesgroup’s generous support

Wesgroup Equipment L.P. (‘Wesgroup) is enhancing their support of UFV’s Heavy Mechanical Program.

John English, Dean, Faculty of Applied and Technical Studies shared what this contribution means for the Program. “We are thrilled with and very grateful to Wesgroup for the support they are providing.  Equipment donations and financial support to students are very significant in helping young people achieve their career goals and supporting the University in the service of the industry and the community.”

Thanks to a previous in kind donation of equipment from Wesgroup’s subsidiary, Westerra Equipment L.P., our students have been given the opportunity to learn how to operate equipment not previously available to them.

Now Wesgroup has committed to a three-year sponsorship of the Heavy Mechanical program and to establish an annual student award, also a three-year commitment. The Wesgroup Equipment Graduating Achievement Award will be presented to two recipients each year

“Wesgroup Equipment is excited to sponsor the Heavy Mechanical Program in partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley,” said Dhar Dhaliwal, CEO. “Skilled trades are key to keeping the economic engine of British Columbia running and this career path is full of opportunities.  We look forward to building an on-going relationship with UFV and working with students in the program.”
