The Chilliwack Players Guild on why they support an annual scholarship

Sheila Reimer, UFV Advancement Officer, recently met with UFV Retiree Judy Hill and Malcolm Mincher of the Chilliwack Players Guild (CPG).

Malcolm shared with Sheila the Guild’s reason for funding an annual award: “when asked why we give to UFV, it gave us some thoughts! Chilliwack Players Guild has been interactive with UFV in many ways, and we realize that UFV is a cornerstone of the community; it’s like the trees, the grass and the mountains. CPG is active in community theatre, and UFV is community-driven. We are both committed to theatre, culture and the community.”

UFV’s Advancement Office has the names of the Guild’s award recipients from the past 30 years. If you are one of these recipients, we would like to reconnect with you and hear what you are doing now so we can share your news with the Chilliwack Players Guild. Please contact Dawn to update us on your news.

The Chilliwack Players Guild has been part of the Chilliwack theatre tradition for more than sixty years. The Guild is an active part of our community enjoying a vibrant partnership with the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. CPG’s membership is made up of local residents who are interested in theatre – on stage as well as behind the scenes.
