UFV Student Emergency Fund

Many situations can contribute to a sudden and stressful personal crisis and put a student at risk of losing everything for which he or she has worked. Every dollar you give is an investment in the future of a student who may not be able to complete their education without your help.

This year, donations are needed more than ever. $35,000 is still needed to provide emergency funding for students facing financial hardship.

With your contributions to the UFV Student Emergency Fund, students can apply for financial assistance when they need it most.

Please give online by selecting Lifesaver Campaign – Student Emergency Fund

Student Emergency Fund donations have helped students by providing assistance with:

  • unexpected emergencies to help with essential living expenses
  • medications and other costs related to medical care
  • replacement of essential personal belongings due to fire, theft, or natural disaster
  • grocery food vouchers and bill payments
  • travel costs related to a death or illness in the immediate family

Last year, faculty and staff donations totaling over $68,000 helped 136 students in distress, but many more students require assistance. With your help, UFV can invest in the success of even more students that are struggling to achieve their goals.

If you donate now, your gift will make an even greater impact thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, who will match $5000 in donations.

“I am so grateful that there are donors that give to these funds so that students like me can get the help they need to go to school and focus on a better life.”

— Randi, UFV Social Work student
