An analysis of the economic and social impact of Abbotsford’s not-for-profit sector

Measuring the social and economic impact of Abbotsford’s not-for-profit sector is the subject of a new report, The Business of Doing Good.

The study, initiated by the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce (ACOC) and led by the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), surveyed nearly 300 local not-for-profit organizations in 2020.

Anchored by key statistics and financial data, the Report also spotlights the importance that not-for-profits play in providing essential community services, with profiles of four local organizations.

“With the devastation of recent local flooding in Abbotsford, the need and value of non-for-profits in our community is more important than ever,” says Anita Nielsen, Executive Director, Advancement & Alumni Relations at UFV, and Chair of the Study Committee. “The report clearly demonstrates that this sector is a key financial contributor and provider of much needed services to the entire Abbotsford community.”
